How to create a fixed asset GL account

A fixed asset GL account in Odoo is an account that is used to track the value of fixed assets such as property, plant, and equipment.

1. Go to  Accounting > Configuration > Chart of Accounts . 
 
  

2. Click on  New  to create a new general ledger account. 

3. Add in the relevant details.  

• Code 
• Account Number 
• Type
• Allow Reconciliation - this is related to the banking accounts, Outstanding Receipts , Outstanding Payments, Account Receivables or Account Payables. 
• Account Currency 

Another way to do reconciliations is from the Accounting tab > Reconciliation.

4. To finish setting up the GL Account, click on Set Up. 

5. Fill in the rest of the details. 

• Default taxes
• Tags 
• Allowed Journals 
• Deprecated.
